2.1 Values, Goals, Actions
Values:
We need to understand the underlying values that support our goals:
- Family - spouse, children, relatives
- Financial-financial security, money in the bank
- Health - physical health, diet, exercise
- Business - what you do at work
- Spiritual-relationship with a higher being
- Community - where you live
- Social- your friends
Goals:
- Know what track you're on and which way you're pointed.
- Anticipate and deal with all potential roadblocks.
Goals must be:
o Specific
o Measurable
o Attainable
o Relevant
o Timely
o Shared
Action:
- Commit to and maintain discipline.
- Be mentally and physically sharp.
- Believe in yourself and your plan (Attitude).
- Have the guts to do the uncomfortable things.
2.2 Behavior Plan
In order to accomplish goals, there needs to be certain behaviors that are performed every day, no matter what.
- Focus on behavior, not results.
- Factor in your financial goals.
- Figure out what the most productive behaviors are that drive new business.
- Commit to a minimum number of prospecting behaviors.
- Develop the plan for your results goal by adding "by doing what" at the end.
Setting Goals
Appreciate what can be accomplished daily, in the short term and in the long term.
- Focus on top personal and professional goals.
- Factor in any obstacles.
- Hold yourself accountable.
- Set goals for the next three months, six months, and one year.
- Behavior goals support results goals.
- Examine the strategic-by-products of each big goal.
